The Mighty Sea

I love to walk beside the sea.
To hear the waves relaxing me.

To walk with God who made us all.
To talk to him who's name I call.

The sea so deep and wide each
wave brings me closer to his side.

In times of storm Gods in control
The wind gets higher and the waves roll.

When I watch the mighty sea
It shows how Gods great strength comes to me.

This great thing that he has made
Teaches me not to be afraid.

For the one who controls the sea
is the one who cares for me

So when I walk along the shore
I don't have to worry any more.

And when I watch the big waves roll
I find such peace in my soul.

I like the sentiment here. As an abstract piece of creation the sea is an utterly amazing thing. I can see why the creater of the sea would comfort you. Indeed you could argue the sea IS God because there could be no life without the sea, and it sustains life aswell.

Thank you for entering my contest and good luck. I really like the sentiment of this poem. I did however see some typos.

"To here the waves relaxing me."

    Did you mean to write?

"To hear the waves relaxing me."

You used an aa bb cc rhyme scheme through the whole poem with the exception of:

"The sea so deep and wide each
wave brings me closer to his side."

I some places the rhyming scheme seemed to be a little forced and did not flow very easily.

Wonderful. This is such a great poem using metaphors and religion. That is something that not many people can pull off well and you did it wonderfully. Fantastic writing.

There're grandeur and gratitude everywhere in this piece. The sea is one of the greatest things God created, because it enlarges the inner heart with peace, fairness, majesty and awe.
And thank you very much for your comment.
