Nights here,
shine almost as bright as the days.
The moon smiles down
lighting the fields with her silver warmth.
Flashlights and fear are left at home,
As children wander the shining streets.
The moon floats down, greeting her sister
On the broken horizon.
They meet, the sky exploding with their hellos.
The sister climbs up,
filling everything with oceans and dandelions.
I lie in grass,
Letting the sweet smell caress me
As the clouds lumber past.
The deafening cacophony of the birds
And the summer breezes
Lull me into sleep
Where I'm met by the smiling, silver moon.
Author notes
I'm a born and bred NH girl, and everytime I come home after living in NY, it's such a culture shock. I miss the stars.

New Hampshire is on my list of places I want to visit. This piece just confirms why I I want to go.
A lovely write.
