White Flowers That Grew From Clay

Today I broke down
When I saw white flowers
Growing from the clay
My eyes began to water
My heart began to break
My life suddenly hit me
All the sadness under lies
I wept over those flowers
Hunched against a raining sky
Each drop turned into a downpour
Bruising each petals tender flesh
And the flowers began to break
I wanted to protect those flowers
To keep the pain at bay
But they still continued to fall
And soon they were all washed away
My cries mingled with rain and thunder
On that cold and gloomy day
My tears fell on clay and torn petals
For white flowers that grew from clay

Author notes
