Do you know how I feel?
Do you know if this smile is real?
I’ve listened to your sad stories
Read your tragic histories
Heard the problems, the “Bangs.” The “booms”
How loved ones are in graves and tombs
Hear of all the daily drama
Heard of fights with your mama
So you think my life is love and glee?
Well it isn’t what it seems to be
You’ve never heard of my family
So you think that I live happily?
Try again, you blind eyed fool
Ignorance is never cool
Every once in a while
I hide my feelings with a smile
So ask yourself:
Do you know how I feel?
Do you know if this smile is real?
I have gotten a lot of courage,
Because my friends are here to urge
Even when they don’t know it all
They still help me when I fall
It sure has been a while
But they bring out my real smile
A real smile isn’t something you can fake
And it doesn’t something you can take
A real smile comes from your heart
And it lets you know your life can start.
