She was my dry shoulder to cry on
As she spoke words of courage
To a freshly broken heart

She held my hand in times
Of insecurities, when life
Would appear to swallow me

She held me up to the light
As the dark would
Close in on my soul

There once was a day
I sat behind closed doors
And she found me

When no one else cared
When no one else wondered
When no one else asked

She came to me with open arms
And open heart, smile wide
And blessed me to be her friend

Now and evermore
She is and always will be

I do have a friend that has been there for me through thick and thin, through years of not seeing one another to the days we spend together. I will always love her dearly!

    This is a beutiful and light hearted poem about your BFF I loved the flow and the way your words seems to just melt into the page! How lovely this is to me, just the thought of having a friend like that makes me smile from ear to ear. Unfortunately.. all my friends seem to be drifting from me lately..(the ones in real life) and I find myself everyday thinking how aweful it is that I do not have that one special person to confide all my woes in. You are a lucky person to have such a friend. Thank you for entering my humble contest sweety!!
