Oh you woodland, with all your velvet green
What makes you so beautiful
With wonders left unseen
That a passerby stops
Amazed...
At beauty so rare
Content...
To just tarry there~
Trees tall as giants, some young some old
Oh what beauty...
You have within your fold
Wildlife and flowers
Sounds that reach the ear
So thankful when sad or lonely
I may tarry there~
Oh you pathless woodland
Just planned for solitude
An observer or wanderer
In the beauty of the woods, how I love to roam
Nothing or no one to mar my thoughts
Just to dream all alone~
A stream running by
Mingles with the sounds of rills
A warning is sounded
Everything is still
Prints in the sod, where deer once stood
Who cannot find pleasure
In these pathless woods~
Dreamer or not
As on through the woods you plod
Comes knowledge that the one above
Namely God
Lets inspiration unfold, makes life good
And gives me the pleasure
Of these pathless woods~
What makes you so beautiful
With wonders left unseen
That a passerby stops
Amazed...
At beauty so rare
Content...
To just tarry there~
Trees tall as giants, some young some old
Oh what beauty...
You have within your fold
Wildlife and flowers
Sounds that reach the ear
So thankful when sad or lonely
I may tarry there~
Oh you pathless woodland
Just planned for solitude
An observer or wanderer
In the beauty of the woods, how I love to roam
Nothing or no one to mar my thoughts
Just to dream all alone~
A stream running by
Mingles with the sounds of rills
A warning is sounded
Everything is still
Prints in the sod, where deer once stood
Who cannot find pleasure
In these pathless woods~
Dreamer or not
As on through the woods you plod
Comes knowledge that the one above

Lets inspiration unfold, makes life good
And gives me the pleasure
Of these pathless woods~

I know a place like this.A place I so love to visit yet rarely get the chance.I miss the place when I haven't been there in awhile. Yet when there I feel complete. And now thanks to you even when I canonot get there I can still visit through your words and visions.
Thank you for this amazing place.

ah yes the beauty of the wood, Blushful i love the wood. Knowing that your earthmagic flows all over the words before me....i sit in awe.......i can not help but to be drawn to the roots and the highest branches....to lay upon the soil and run with the creatures that dwell within. I hear the whispers of he tree spirits......all of this in words so well put. Thankyou for bringing me home.

Beautiful poem! I loved the picture; it really set the mood for reading this poem, and I could picture a soft, serene guitar playing in the background while birds were chirping and rays of sun filtered through the trees. Great job.

Bravo
WOW, I think my first read of your work. What a wonderful job! Reminded me of the feelings I felt riding the road through American Fork Canyon in the Wasatch Mountains in Utah. You didn't feel the energy of the Creator there, you were permeated by it. -
Wonderful rhymes, this poem was the path to enter heaven of wood, that's why I love the imagry that's much, you did a great job.

How beautiful this is. Reading this gave me such a soothing feeling inside. I was absolutely mesmerized by that picture. The "door" to the woods looks to me almost like angel's wings. Well, at least in my eyes they do.

Sis this a pure joy to read... and sometimes that's all that there is.. beauty and spirits.. wonderful

This should be put to music...sort of a soft-rock acoustic guitar and vocalist...noone else. I think it'd be really pretty.
In any case, I like this poem. The way it transfers you to another plane of existence, one of only trees, is just an amazing feeling.
I share your love of plants...I consider myself a gardener.
Good work.

This is beautiful! I can practically smell the fresh damp pine trees. Breathes in the fresh air, so secluded and hidden in the trees.
love this stanza:
"Oh you pathless woodland
Just planned for solitude
An observer or wanderer
In the beauty of the woods, how I love to roam
Nothing or no one to mar my thoughts
Just to dream all alone~"
Thanks for sharing.
*stomps (off to find the perfect tree to lay under and dream...)

Wonderful descripive nature poem once again ....but jst asking , did you mean to end the first and second stanza with the word "tarry " in the line ? I have no suggestions for another word , but somehow it just threw it off a tiny bit for me . Oh boy , I feel so awful even mentionning it , but it is just something that caught my eye.....and that might be exactly what you were trying to do , so if that is the case please excuse me for even mentionning it
But I do need to reiterate that all else flowed smooth as a river over waterpolished rocks

Talk about feelings of serenity and calm. This is wonderfully written. We all need pathless woods in our lives. Beautiful poem you shared.
-
I was so taken with the picture... we are such small parts of life.. This picture was perfect for the poem.
Your write was flawless... beautiful... exquisitely written! It flowed and drew me so deep into those beautiful woods. I have an urge to visit my folks in the cabin...:)
Outstanding write!

Lost amid the whispering trees,
The wooded deep tranquilities,
Where even time itself stands still,
To hear the song of her silence til,
The pull of being draws us home,
From where our carefree footsteps roam.

Best of wishs and prayers for you Susan.

Excellent
So beautiful Susan, almost could feel being there with you in the beauty of nature a wonderful write and refreshing images.....:) Hugs to you, Sherry

Nicely done Susan. This has some very beautiful imagery and flows very well.
Has a sort of calm feel to it- an air of serenity.
The only suggestion I have is to change passerby to plural or put it as "a passerby" to denote that it should be singular. As it is now, seems like maybe it could go either way.
You've got another nicely woven write here. Glad I stopped by

really beautiful poem.
for me, nature's perfection is the beach and the ocean.
for you it is the velver green woodland.
for both of us it is what beauty God has created.
you expressed this so well. perfect, I'd say.
