Chosen letters given to me
From my Mum and my dad
When I was just wee
They picked them with love
And gave them to me
Hoping to see them in lights up above
Now I’ve had them for ages
And remember them too
It even gets printed when I’m paid my wages
It’s a thing I hold dearly
Means the world to me too
That’s why when I type it’s written so clearly
I have nothing to hide
Or a form to make up
I just use it daily and I use it with pride
Now sometimes it is hidden in contests you hold
But that’s just a chance
For me to win gold
You can see it if clever and know who I am
It’s a name that is short
But belongs to a man
I will make comments wisely
Even funny at times
But at this precise moment can’t think of a rhyme
Ok, it’s a beauty
And it’s mine, yes all mine
And to finish it off, I post it in Chinese sign.

you know, I've never really thought of how my name is held with pride. I always say to myself that the name doesn't define the person - it's the person that defines the name. And you are right - I do hold my name with pride.

Well it pleases me i am sure your mum and dad too that you perhaps like the name they gave to you.....funny how we feel about names....know mine was changed too bloody long to sign on forms was my father's opinion so changed it was but nobody uses it much and i really hated it all my life.... yes it is all yours thank you for the smile
