Fairy Tale Love

Missing image
Far off in a distant land
There lived an enchanted princess
all alone, no one to talk to
Her heart was filled with lonliness

Until one day her doorbell rang
And threw her off the bed
To find no other than a handsome prince
"hello my dear" he said

She stood in silence for a moment
She did not know what to do
He told her that he wants her heart
her prince had come to her rescue

She agreed to this prince with everything
Gave him what he desired
Their wedding day arrived at last
But their fairy tale backfired

Weeks later to be exact
He started to leave without warning
Leaving her alone at night
Staying out until the morning

She was confused and hurt
Her prince was being unfaithful
She cried at night for her pain
For his actions on her were sinful

Then one night he came home early
Loud and drunk he appeared
he broke the door and threw it down
Frightened; she watched the man she feared

He climbed on the bed and turned out the light
He ripped off all her clothes
In the darkness were only screams
What happened? no one knows

the next morning he packed her bags
and threw her on the street
She was now banished from her land
her life was incomplete

while walking alone down the road
she thought, " i hate love"
for love is nothing but pain, hate, tears
and all of the above

A very tragic fairy tale indeed. One of your own creation, no doubt. I love how you were able to capture the pain and confusion in such easy rhymes. Truly amazing. This is a wonderful piece. Great job.

People say all fairy tales have happy endings. I srongly disagree and this poem expresses the TRUTH. I simply loved it. Please make sure to write your option number in the notes, though. Thanks for the entry!

This poem (well in parts, anyway) reminds me of the life of Princess Diana. Poor lass. Quite a dramatic write and I do love anything that says it's a fairy tale. So I love this poem! Even though it does not have a happy ending.

Maybe the girl is rescued by a handsome knight and he carries her off to some fine adventures.
