I've been on the prowl through these city streets
Filled with demon whispers that snarl and spit
Their venomous words of grunts and growls
Telling me this is it, man! this is it
So I'll put that nozzle to my temple
Pull the trigger it's quite that simple
These angel streets that have lost their wings
Just howl their judgement in voices that sing
Feel the emptiness here in the echoes and walls
Where the aimless gather to shoot up then crawl
Back into the shadows where they lay down their pretty heads
Are they dead? Man what have they been fed!
I've heard it all before
This city noise and angel poise
I've seen it all before
This hateful place
With it's head full of grace.
The ghosts here haunt the overpasses
Where the gutter crawlers cruise by on the prowl
Looking for sweetmeats and other tasty morsels
You can hear them breathing and hear them howl
It's a gasoline alley of open weeping sores
Where the place is filled with two dollar whores
And no time for anyone to care at all
Watching angels fall
That's nothin' at all.
I've heard it all before
