Do I have to do this again
Come on lady, don't you know
It's now the day's end
Go home, let me sleep in peace
Leave me to myself
I just want to relax here
Upon my stone-wall shelf
I want to stretch freely
Yawn my day away so fast
Put down that darn camera lady
This is my moment, why it lasts
Ok, ok, one more picture
Then go about your merry way
I need to rest for my nightly crawl
Hurry, I hadn't got all day
(So much for camouflage
They see me sitting here
I swear, humans are so annoying
Isn't that already clear?)
I'm not going to pose
So don't even ask
Take what you get, or not
In the sun, I'm going to bask
(They glare and stare all day
And poke and prod some more
But I know, that right here
I am safe and secure)
Author notes
The picture is mine.
This was taken at a wild cat sanctuary I do some volunteer time with. Her name is Vida (pronounced Veehah). She was brought to this sanctuary after being shot on a stocked game site. Fortunately she didn't die, but is permanantly injured. I have handled her personally, among other big cats. She is a precious soul for a wild animal.
Personally, I'd like to ring the *whatever I can get a hold of* assholes that run these ranches, and hang them up as a trophy.
