Standing in the bathroom mirror
you asked the reason why I stay
I couldn't find the words then
but I have them now....
I stay because you're my soft place
to fall when the world seems to be
caving in on me
I stay because of the kind words
of encouragement you have
when I feel like giving up
I stay because you protect my honor
I stay becaue you make feel warm and protected
I stay because your patient and understanding
with me
I stay because you get the real me
warts and all
I stay because home is where the heart is
and you have mine
