Namida (Huitain)

My memories have turned silent
in the rain of my frozen tears.
These winds still remain violent,
Painting this world with darkened fears.
By each common word my heart hears,
it beats to the dawn of our past.
the old answer suddenly clears:
“These tears will never be the last.”

Author notes

Namida = a tear (Japanese)

A human being never stops crying, and that is one of the best qualities about us. That's what I think.

This is my second Huitain poem and I'm still not satisfied with it. Huitain is a Spanish poetry form that circles around the number 8. There's 8 lines in a Huitain, with 8 syllables in each line. The rhyme scheme's ababbcbc.

I like this poetry form so I've tried it out a couple of times and I think it's getting more natural to me. I'm terrible in short poetry in usual, so it's a long road for me even still... So please, be as nasty as you can: I want to become better!

Tell me what you think - be as bold as you can; I don't break.
