A beautiful love poem, subtle and not soppy as many can be. I really enjoyed reading this.
On the other hand its not quite in the style of the Valentines poems that I was referring to which is a specific traditional style of poetry concerning Valentines day itself and the courtly love tradition rather than just being simple love poems.See for example (if you have time or inclination of course www.lib.rochester.edu/camelot/teams/forflourfrm.htm which is the text of John Lydgate's The Floure of Curtesye) Of course this is unimportant for anything other than this contest because what you have written is otherwise a really admirable poem. -
Wow! What woman would scorn a card that contained this verse? Melts the harshest heart. This is golden, sheer magic.

I aim here only at hosting a unique and warm-hearted Valentine's Day contest, to discover the fire of love, passion, and yes, life. Your revealing sentiments today, which may perhaps be different tomorrow, are the stuff of which dreams are made, lives are lived, hearts are kindled, and futures rise. If we learn something new which changes us, or if we discover ourselves in the process of falling in love, we are that much better human beings, for they say that 'tis only love which makes the world go 'round. Thank you for sharing your romantic vision of true love, appreciation for another, and absolute happiness, even if for one fleeting moment in time in this short span of our mortal lives. I have no authority to speak as a great poet, nor do I profess to be any better at writing prose than anyone else, but I do know what moves the passions of the heart, mind, and soul; and this is it, dear Poet. The first four lines were magical, and the last four fantastic. I have to wonder if this needed any more than two stanzas. Small, in this case was fruition and the most gracious pull in loves abode.

Oh, this is so beautiful. Your imagery is so unique and wonderful, I fell in love with your word s the first time i read them. The only part that I would consider revising is this: "And scenes seen from a mountain view" Maybe you could change it not to be "scenes seen", that is the only part that threw me off while i read this. It is very good. Thank you fro entering in my contest.

I really like your examples - so UN-cliche'. I do think, however, that after the first 3 stanzas, the last one is rather weak. You have powerful thoughts in the first three, but the last stanza kind of brings it down to ordinary - which it shouldn't. Perhaps, rather than focusing on the object of your desire, continue your focus on the search, then only on the last line end it with finding her/him. Don't use the word 'beautiful' if you can help it.
Also, ditch most of the 'ands'. You don't need them and they get tiresome.
Now, since I've given criticism, it sounds as though I don't like your poem, but I do, I really do. I'm just so delighted at your examples of beauty. celtic queen

This is lovely. Very happy and sweet. The format of this and the scheme was very poetic and very poetically classy to me. It reminded me of one of the little poems you'll find in collections of famous old poets. Not their masterpieces, but still very nicely put. Simplicity is not a bad thing, as this shows.
