Running through the financial district
to the beat of Rock Lobster
or Love Shack,
I cant remeber which one,
I passed this giant statue.
It honored some man made god
or polititian or something.
Can't remember the guy's name.
Anyway, this bronze hero
gleaming in the blazing summer sun,
and standing upon it's white marble pedestal,
was sheltering this ragged looking man.
A discarded scrap of humanity
dressed in dirty ripped up jeans
and a oversized tank
sitting on a monument to some random guy.
The contrast stung me deep.
I wanted to help him yet
with no food or money or anything
What could I do?
I gave him a smile,
which he returned at double the rate.
And I kept running, like I always do.

Kind of elaborated on an experience here, but, yeah.
