America Sings

America Sings

Today America sings in the sky
and she raises her voice for all to hear.
Freedom for all, it’s the fourth of July.
Independence she sings, perfectly clear.

The ramparts ignite, a lovely display,
showing her love with arms open wide,
as she lifts up her voice showing the way.
She welcomes you, with American pride.

Some would destroy, the American dream
and pillage her hope and prosperity.
Changing her love to a hated regime,
depriving the world of her dignity.

Her freedom will sing, so come and belong.
The American dream lifted in song.

    This is fantastic!

There is irony in using an English Sonnet form about our independece from the English? But my dear friend this is a wonderful poem! America does sing and this website is a perfect example of us comming together and sharing our voices!

A wonderful dedication to our beautiful country. Happy Independence Day! A lovely sonnet. And an ENGLISH sonnet to boot. Ironic, the country we won our independence from.... ~Pam

Those who would think they are to steal our freedom I, and others I know, will feed such beasts to salt water crocodiles with unrelenting fervor and the crocs I will have trained myself. For some bastards simple death is too generous, far too generous.

What a lovely sharing feel, the real macall, in what party animals are what it's all about and one who you wouldn't mind sharing the regatta. Nicely done indeed.
