I would fall to me knees
Just to get your attention

That I am the love of your life
That you will be with me for the long ride.
But your love has found another
My heart aches and I bleed a blood red
You act like I don’t care, but I do.
But you secretly wish I was dead.

My tears race down my cheeks
My voice becomes wavering cries.
Where have you gone to sweetheart?
There’s no one to dry my seeping eyes.
It’s so easy for you to run away
What’s best for you is all that matters
I’m nothing more than a passerby
In your world where love scatters.

I sit here in this room by myself.
Listening to the songs we shared.
There’s an empty space next to me
Dreams that we had when you cared.
Kisses that I can taste on my lips
Whispers of love repeating in my ears.
Your scent hanging in the air.
Cuddling with you and holding back tears.
Our love will never be the same

Pictures of you when you loved me
Smiling and longing for my touch
Two hearts beating together…forever
Feeling and loving you so much.
Take my hand and lead me, lover
To those places where the night never ends.
Where our souls are bound together
And our bodies united… to transcend.

I walk the desolate streets
Searching for love and all that I fear.
Watching smiling faces passing by
Laughing and speaking of good cheer.
I straddle the bridge’s steel span
The wind blowing through my hair.
Jumping into the river is my plan.
Wishing that you really did care.

To you…..it’s just a game.
Below the throngs of death call me
Begging me to join the woeful cries
Of lonely lovers in a sleepless dance
Where my hurt and pain gladly dies.
Step down you fool, I hear you whisper
I see you standing there with open arms
I turn and step down in disbelief
You run to me and take me from harm.
Our love will never be the same

Charley this is so painful to read. To imagine you heartbroken over a certain someone. I cried. I haven't been there for you lately. I am so sorry. This poem is beautifully written.
