Universal Space

Floating in a quiet place
I do not know what I may face
Thinking thoughts, no thoughts at all
All I know is I’m quite tall

Tall I say?  Well yes indeed
My head touches the sky
And my arms seem to fly
Above the world

Is this what I am?
So quiet but free?
Empty space
In peaceful glee

No for I am captured naught
Gone forever form a bone filled prison
My thoughts, they are not thoughts at all

For I am a soul
Though I know it not
Those stars you see?
Well they are me.

I am wind,
I am tree,
Know why?
Because now I am free.

Please tell me what you think

This is a very nice piece. I really don't have a favorite line as they all seem to flow very well into the next. Thanks for entering my contest and the best of luck to you! Kelly

    To COOL

I like this free expression. Definately discribes a soul in a way i never would have thought but it fits so perfectly and just a little bit of rhyming. sounds perfect to me UNT.

I like the weightless-feel of this, of what you give to the soul. Airy, light, free. Nice wording! Good luck in your contest.

This is a brave and original flight of imagination, that dodges the usual religious identifications with personality and God connections. "bone filled prison" is a wonderful metaphor that I will remember. "Empty space in peaceful glee" is another gem. The meter is kept simple, and at a distance from philosophical gymnastics. File this one away, it is an important poem for you.
