there is a time in the mornings
when the sun begins to rise,
and its rays brighten and become bold
in their stature and size
And they push away the gloom
and occupy its space
fill my room with glory
with a warm sunkissed embrace.
I call it tragically beautiful.
because it is so.
It makes the mornings beautiful,
even the ugly things aglow.
Its tragic because those rays
must fight so they can be seen,
through windows and blinds and draperies
illuminating things both dirty and clean.
Its tragic because when I awaken in it,
I can see that Im alone
and the beauty of his face is gone
what we could have been, unknown.
Its tragically beautiful because I can see him there,
Illuminated by morning sun.
And I see him wrapped in my arms
our bodies intwined as one...
I love that time of morning
As i hate that tragic light
But Im always one day closer to him, I say,
as I lay on my pillow each night.
Please tell me what you think

This gripped me to the end. Then you slammed me with the sad wishful thinking at the end. As soon I'm I'm done reading you go on my favs list. You have such a naturally good flow.

I liked it very much.
It is a very beautiful poem well articulated.I can't say that any part was a favoite nor not a favorite as I found it all very special. It is written so that I feel as if I could be that person talked about in the poem. It makes me glad that there are poets that have such intense feelings about someone they care about, and are able to find the right words too express what they feel. The title, first and last lines were good. In line 12 instead of "aglow" I would just put "glow". For me this was a very beautiful poem and I would not change any thing except what I already stated. A very great write. Thanks for shareing your beautiful thoughts.

i like it, its well written. but to me theres no emotion in it... its descriptive but theres no life to it, its word on a page. try and make it jump out at us.

dont read this if you want the truth... just kidding - you can read it - its good! its great! i dont like nature poems - at all - whatsoever - not a bit - but this one it changed me.. i really liked it - you have a way with words and i could just feel that you wanted to be with him so badly, it was almost as if it were a rush... i cant say anything other than i liked it.. its missing something in order for it to be loved by me, but i did like it.. and now i know by this time you are very sick of reading the extra ordinarly long comment, so im just going to shut up now
