Pillar

My steady rock and pillar,
crumbling to the ground.
Hit by a blow,
and i'm the only one around.
The cold rain hits hard,
and bears down upon me.
I cant take it anymore,
i fall to my knee.
inside i am screaming,
what have i done,
someone crashed my pillar,
and i was that one.
I turned my back on him,
with no real reason at all.
The coldest of shoulders,
when i heard him fall.
short breath long breath,
quakey breath, silence.
It seems i attacked him
with emotional violence.
I felt his tears run down his face,
and my dread swelled up inside.
i held him tight and apologised,
as he cried and cried.
what have i done,
what did i do,
all i can say is I'm sorry,
i love you.

I didnt even realise,
he loved me that much.
that a simple cold shoulder,
could cause him to tear.
As i begin to cry,
i realise the fear,
the hurt and pain,
of hurting my love.
is mightier than a
fullhearted shove,
into the deepest of pitts,
of the nastiest things.
where no light is found,
and no birdie sings.
I never wish ever to,
fall this way again.
where the dark overwhelms,
and the bearing cold rain.
will fill one with dread,
till they wish to die.
This is how i felt,
as i watched him cry.
