downward to the gloomy depths.
There the canvas flutters,
the corpses sleep forever,

WOW!! I love the gothic feel of this. So true of the ever changing and unpredictable sea. How many lives I wonder, has is stolen?? Great write here.. made me feel a little "clammy".
