Need I remind you your parents weren't thrilled with your choice
And you vowed that they couldn't silence your voice
Eventually they accepted your partner even though they never rejoiced
All I am asking you is to give me that same chance
That sometimes love can be appreciated at first glance
Allow me the gratification of a new romance
Since you refused to accept our love, I have decided to run away
You may think this is nonsense but this is not a game to play
You can’t destroy the love in my heart no matter what you say

I based mine off of a soap opera. One Life to Live. Starr like Cole and their parents don't want them to be in love.
