My eighteenth birthday was fabulous! I was grounded that evening cause I was still in school and bought my sister alcohol! ha! Those were the days

Great Write
Hello Don, I stopped by to see if any new writes. Found this I had missed. Great write. My eighteenth birthday I was married the day before I turned 18 on St.Patricks Day. Lasted 13 years. I guess you could say the luck of the Irish ran out.
you take care. Sandy

Hi Sandy!! Thank you for the comment and applause on my write! I also was married once before when I was young (19). Lasted two years, long enough to find out I was not as grown up as I thought and neither was she! HA! I guess we all learn to adjust and move on. Thanks for stopping by, Don

If it's YOUR 18th birthday, it's not so scary, unless you're being directed out into the world ahead of your own liking.
Good line, poet!

Yes, I agree on that for sure!! I joined the US Navy at 17 so I got some lessons early. My son is experimenting with being his own man and I think he is finding out it is a very large responsibility! HA! I'm sure he'll do fine though in time! Thanks for the compliment and applause on this one liner!! Sincerely, Don

18 was a blur, 21 a celebration. 30 was a little scary, 40 a resignation. Now that i've turned 50, I think I'm getting younger! Great job! much love, john

I don't remember my 18th as 21 was the 'BIG' one for me (which I do remember slightly
)My son's 18th was a milestone as that was when I realised he wasn't my 'baby' anymore - it was a life changing event for both of us. Time marches on....

Yes My son will be eighteen in September and I have yet wondered what to think. I think best on my feet though! Which is where I will have to be since he towers over me. HA! He's a good boy and I think he'll be ok! This time it's not all my choice on his choices. He does know the Lord and that gives me one large sigh of fresh air. Beautiful comment!! I'm feeling what you felt my friend, Don

Thank you Sam!! Yes September 18th is his birthday and it was the first thing that came to mind. I think I'm ready for it. I'm kinda soft at heart when it comes to my two boys. But life goes on right!!
