borrowed season

shy of life,

promised full

crease of whorl

as hair in twirl

twined on finger,

thought confined

minded reason, sworn secure

lost as bark

softly sloughed

in wave of treason

sorrowed end

to borrowed season

Lovely personification of melancholy and sadness here...cast aside, a sorrowed end like a piece of driftwood. A lovely poem with great word-economy, so softly placed here upon this page.

Thank you for posting it in my contest.
