I think I can, I can do it!
Grab a cookie before they knew it!
Hold it tightly in my hand
I can do it, that’s my plan!
Grab a chair from the table
Climb up high, if I’m able
In the cupboard, look it’s there!
I open the bag and use great care!
With the cookie in my hand
In the corner I will stand
finally when the coast is clear
I’ll eat my cookie without fear!
Chocolate chip I like the most
I hear footsteps coming close
Quietly I started to nibble
The dog is watching, he starts to dribble
One loud bark, my covers blown!
Darn that dog, I should’ve known
Dad’s so close I hear him sigh
He spots the package way up high
I try to wipe the crumbs away
But I’m caught to my dismay
It wasn’t the dog who turned me in
It was my toothy chocolate grin!

Lol... this is a very funny poem
I wonder if Dad was gonna sneak some cookies, too. Chocolate chip cookies are always the hardest to hide, they make these little chocolate spots on your teeth and they start to melt in your hand when you're trying to hide them.... but they're so good, makes it all worth it
You did a super job with writing this humorous poem and thank you for entering it in the contest
