Was a car accident, hit a pole while asleep.
Now sits with tarnished wings and wonders why.
She was a good Angel, did always at least try.
Now doubts assail her, questions do creep.

A moment of not watching, life becomes cheap.

She prays for forgiveness, she gets no reply.
The sadness inside her, it goes very deep.

Guilt, pain, consequences, on herself she does heap.

She cries Angel tears, to her charge says goodbye.

Villanelle
A Villanelle is a nineteen-line poem consisting of a very specific rhyming scheme:
aba aba aba aba aba abaa.
The first and the third lines in the first stanza are repeated in alternating order throughout the
poem, and appear together in the last couplet (last two lines).

I have read this twice before, both times I was moved to tears, which doesn't happen very often, and couldn't comment, again now I am teary, this is a beautiful sad piece, I am so glad you entered it and congrats on the HM.
