My Way

Through all my existence
They explain what to do.
I take notice and nod.
and though I fabricated false steps,
and though I caused distress,
I always did what I could.
Living a good life.

Never angling back time.
Attaining from my crimes.
Trying to right a wrong.
Causing public satisfaction.
Conveying to friends and family.
Doing admirable deeds,
But always by my basis.
To see a grin on your face,
Arranging everyday to gleam.

Author notes

A song that kind of runs through the family. It was played at my grandpas funeral, and my mom wants it at hers...so I figured I'd need it for mine. Sort of...a family tradition.

The song is "I Did It My Way" by Frank Sinatra.

    oh wow! What a cool tradition - and a great song too, very appropriate. It's so important to live your life your own way - instead of just doing what others expect and want you to, following the norm completely.
    Great moral to the song, and your words. This is great.
