i don't care if you don't like me
you don't have to approve
your son can do what he wants
he can fall in love with whoever he wants
and if he wants to, he can marry that person too
you really have no say in it
i'm sorry that you feel we shouldn't be together
but i don't understand why you feel this way
it really makes no sense
if we truly love each other
we should have the chance to spend our lives together
just like you two got
again, sorry that you don't approve of me
but we're getting married whether you like it or not
whether you show up at the wedding is up to you
even though you dislike me, i like you
and want you to come
but i understand if you don't
i'm sorry, future inlaws
but i'm taking your son away from you
and there's nothing you can do about it

You didn't need to rhyme. The poem was wonderful the way it was. Telling the parents that your going to be in their son's life is quite a step. It is a very brave thing to stand up for what you want, and you just want to be happy and you're trying to make the parents realize that they can't do anything to stop you two from being together. Sorry if i just summarized it up for you, that's just me. But I really did like the poem. ;p

Regardless of whether or not this ryhmes doesn't really matter. It is very honest and that is very important, your honesty reflects how I feel quite well.Thank you very much for entering.I hope everything works out for the best for you.
