"Please... let me go,
I didn't mean it..."
The words spill from my lips
before I can hold them back,
before I can refine my plea.
He stares at me,
piercing with those black,
soulless eyes,
smiling at me,
the man I used to love,
grinning as he puts that
black plastic over my face,
around my head,
smothering,
devouring my screams.
My pleas fall upon lifeless ears.
And all I can do is wonder
as I slip into eternal blackness;
is his heart truly as black
as this garbage bag?
Is his soul truly as dark
as what's filling my head?
Did I ever deserve him?

Wonderfully written here, sweetie; this part of the poem I feel could stand on it's own, as it's strong and heart wrenching... Made me feel sad. -

i like the direction you went with this poem. its a shame that men can let themselves stoop to such a low level and disrespect a wonam in such a manner. i mean think about it. if it werent for women, us men wouldnt be here. i know it takes 2 to tango but you know what i mean. thanks for entering and best of luck in the contest. -
