"Stop and listen, there's enjoyment there!"

soft docile winds
amber colored skies
blends in the horizon
seen only by my eyes

i stand still as
the winds speaks
a message in song
maybe for me

the greens, browns, tan, beige
fading colors of nature's carpet under my feet
appears so fragile but resilience it keeps
just a few miraculous tears from the unending ceiling above
this moistening kiss so blessed with love

i've walked this path called life for many a year
it's wonders repeat no worry here

yet we so unthinkingly, unknowingly
cause the great earth so much harm
we in our fast pace lives
have forgotten the smallest thing
we have misdirected our love!

oh. this is so good. Especially the last line is just so effectful, because it really goes to the reader and kind of asks 'what are you going to do about it?' and at the same time it's really sad. I too enjoy the wonders of the eart, and it saddens me to see how it is treated.

One thing though - i don't like the title. I think you should come up with something simpler.

Wow. Spectacular imagery. I love the use of all the colors, it really paints a picture with the words. The poem flows so smoothly and makes me want to sigh. Very peaceful. I love the end. Perhaps if we took better care of the earth, then it would take better care of us, and every now and then stop and take notice of all that we have instead of trying to get more. Enjoy the small pleasures in life. Nicely written. good luck in the contest.

Some lovely images here; seems part rhyming, part free verse. Last verse so true - in our fast paced society we often forget the little things that mean so much to others; we need to take more time and make these little things more important so that we too can stop and smell the roses -
