The Difference Makes All the Difference

I've walked alone on many roads,
observing what caught my fancy.
Driven by sensing obscure flows,
coined by others as just fantasy.

Yet finding things sometimes profound,
jewels unnoticed on that dim-lit path.
It's served my soul in wisdom found,
sating curious questions I've had.

A well trod path although the safest,
neglects to feed an inquisitive heart.
I have a need to journey into places,
separate, detached and set apart.

While as they say"curiosity killed the cat."
My course has shown far better colors.
My questing let me see the other half.
of life's opposites, a comparison discovered.

Fuller, more enriched for what I've sensed,
of angles, curves and unlit corridors.
Of money rich & mouse poor innocence,
I've seen this life in terms much clearer.

Well said, well done I'm reminded of the expression, "To get to the fruit of the tree you have to go out on a limb". We only ever discover what's worthwhile by going off the beaten track, experiencing the difference and making comparisons from first hand knowledge (not others' opinions).

I especially like the 3rd stanza - it could stand alone.

A little problem with the syntax and meaning in line 3 of S2: "It's served my soul to depths compound". Just a suggestion, maybe, 'It's served my soul with wisdom found'?

Adventure and variety make life very interesting. I like your poem, you have great ideas about the value of difference between people and in one's own experiences. Well done!

This makes me think of that old age saying that two people can look at the same exact thing and see something totally different from one another. It's funny how life can take us on so many journeys and for some, the bumps are just that... bumps. But for others... they are mountains that one must be pulled and tugged and pushed along to surpass. This indeed fills my head with a myriad of thoughts. Nicely done! Good luck in the contest.
