Verse 1:
Daddy please put that bottle of vodka down,
because it's killing you and I need you around.
Whose gonna give your little girl away,
if you're laid 6 feet under in a grave.
How will my kids know there pawpaw,
I guess they'll learn to know you,
from pictures on the wall.
I wish you would just look into your little girl's eyes,
see the tears,
she's begging you to stop before you die.
Chorus:
Daddy I wish you would sober up,
instead of vodka,
pour water in the cup.
What will it take to make you see,
it doesn't just affect you,
it affects the whole family.
Daddy please start thinkin and stop drinkin
Verse 2:
I remember as a lil girl,
asking mama if I could call, and where you were,
She'd say, Hunny, I'm sorry,
but daddy's speech is too slurred.
I grew up most of my life without you there,
because your vodka was so greedy, and wouldn't share.
There were times that I hated you,
for leaving me alone,
But now I understand,
The vodka wouldn't let daddy come home.
Chorus:
Daddy I wish you would sober up,
instead of vodka,
pour water in the cup.
What will it take to make you see,
it doesn't just affect you,
it affects the whole family.
Daddy please start thinkin and stop drinkin
Love always, Bee Bratcher
Dedicated to my father

I can't describe to you how this poem is affecting me at the moment, but I just want you to know I think it is truly amazing. I'm glad you wrote it, but the circumstances in which you had to write it, isn't something to be celebrated. But amazing poem, and I'm very glad I read it.
