When you close your eyes,
Do things come back to you,
Do you feel what you gave,
Does she mean something now,
Because she you used to wait there,
Every night where you promised,
She never spoke of you,
As she dissolved into the darkness,
Inside her mind where you stay,
And as she died into her sleep,
A silent tear burned her cheek,
Hearing her heart pound its last beats,
You felt it when the candles went out,
And the windows shattered,
Those screams no one else heard,
Now you understand everything,
Running barefoot down the road,
Hearing your heart beat loudly,
Smashed into the living room,
As you ran up the stairs,
You felt something in you fade,
Opening the room's door,
You pray and hope it's not too late,
But you know you felt something in you die,
You stop dead cold in the doorway,
Your hands are shaking,
The tears burn down your face,
Your lips tremble and your knees weaken,
You rush to the bed in the corner of the room,
And at last you collapse down on its side,
Time for you to cry and weep,
You have done this and now you know,
You hold her hand now,
But it doesn't make a difference,
She can't feel you anymore,
After so many years of feeling this,
Now you sit on your bed,
All alone wrapped in darkness,
Now you think of what could've been,
Tear stains dry on your face,
Relived memories die in your sleep,
As you hear your heart's last beats.
Please tell me what you think

Excellent
Love this poem it's so great to read, and very powerful emotionally. My only gripe would be that it seems a little over long when I feel it could be cut shorter. Regardless I really enjoyed reading it, excellent job!!!
