Scavenger Morns

Missing image
Eyes to catch the lint of life
collected so vividly in the heart's jar.
Bits and pieces of hues, sights, sounds and smells
gathered when the day is born.
Weaving them into a verse quilt
to drape across the soul with threads of hope
till it warms
the chill of shadows
and one finds a flame
for shining into tomorrow.

Serenity silky textures seduces from the garment
silently hushing the clamor of stress ghosts.
Inhaling the burnished glow of the muse's candle
as only a mind's quill can feel,
turning the fleeting scenic litter
into an artistry of thought.

Hanging upon a clothesline of creativity
where others came to admire the laundry.
It all overflows in the precious euphoria
of sweet and savory
scavenger morns,
only felt though the seeping and succulent swirls
in visionary strokes
from one's sensory paintbrush.

    Wow!
I am so very speechless after reading this. It flowed so nicely and kept me till the very end. Awesome poetry you have penned here dripping off of the page like honey and waiting to be licked from the fingers for a sweet delight. It is that yummy...My favorite parts are:

Weaving them into a verse quilt
to drape across the soul with threads of hope
    till it warms
    the chill of shadows

    Awesome lines...just breathless!
    Keep penning fine poet

This is another one of your pieces, where you truly capture the attention of the reader with just the first line of the poem.
I like the duality of the constant metaphors [fire, and cloth] in addition to the other gorgeous images you put into the piece. They all work well with each other, and the allegory is well placed in the poem, without becoming tedious.
The first stanza really stand out to me, especially those first four lines. For me, it expresses so much how things and instances can impact us on a daily basis.
The overall message of the work is brilliant beyond belief. The way poets, and writers in general, can paint such a vivid and emotional scene with their words, is a wonderful concept, that I don't think gets written about enough. The writing becomes even better when others can enjoy it and get something out of it.
This is a work with perfection in all three stanzas. Innovative in its tone and imagery; wonderfully structured and worded, this poem seems well thought out. Gorgeous piece.
