Destiny Takes a Hand

Missing image

I was a wistful waif
with slivers of moonlight
waning
within my shadowed eyes
when Destiny found me waiting.

With her gentle, slow touch of Truth,
she soothed my fevered brow,
brought Beauty to barren fields,

begging me to pick up the pieces
of my perilous existence
& embrace them until they healed,
a fractured harvest held dear.

She handed me parchment & pen
& bid me to bloom,
a wildflower bending
before the wildest winds.

She showed me salvation
borne of sunlight
& stars that would not fall
from this dreaming sky.

She whispered words to soothe
a wounded Soul,

lyrics that lingered upon my lips
with the eternal essence
of Life,

her tender music moving me
beyond moments
of callous reckoning

towards a path
of fragile, fertile Grace...

Art: "Stars" by Maxfield Parrish

I used to have a reproduction of this painting.
I still have one entitled "Girl on a Swing".

Very well written. You have used alliteration very effectively in this work.

    I really like the line:

"lyrics that lingered upon my lips"
