No more, no more
Can I think of you
‘Cause when I do
I break down inside
You were my life
The air I breathed
I would go to you
When no one else would understand
You held my hand
When you went down
But I brought you up
To be with me instead
I will always have the thought in my mind
Of when we were together
I’ll store it up,
Tape it tight;
The file that reads Y-O-U...
I’ll keep it closed
And will try to not open it again
Because I know I can’t be with you
This chapter of my life
Has got to end...
This is where I close the book
Never to return again
Thank you for what you did for me...
You’ll always have a place in my heart
Even when 100 years have past
I’ll think back then; so long before...
And smile

This really sums up a lot of how I feel. I like that you can put a happy side to goodbye. Your last stanza just says it all really. Good luck.

Emotional and powerful. Having to accept that a relationship has ended is painful. You've captured that in this piece, along with the gratitude for the partner. Excellantly written and constructed. Thanks for sharing it
