Draped across the back of a chair
are all our inhibitions;
for tonight, all we have is each other.
Hung by the door
are all our fears;
for tonight, no one can stop us.
Thrown down upon the floor
are all our insecurities;
for tonight, it is all about the other.
We make our way to the bedroom
smiling softly; making no sound--
for tonight, it is not about speaking.
We know that words cannot express how we feel
so we have agreed, silently, to keep our mouths shut
and let greater powers do the talking.
We shut the door behind ourselves
smiling softly; our eyes bright and clear--
for tonight, we shall not close our eyes.
We both know that the eyes are windows to our souls
so we shall neglect to close them and cut the other off
instead reaching into the other and holding them close.
The bed is in reach, and so we lay down
the first kiss is embraced, passionately--
soft, and gentle, and slow
appreciating every moment;
there is no need to worry, now, no need to hurry
for tonight is all our own.

Yes, Sarah and myself again. I worked a bit on it, and like how it has turned out, so I won't add anymore. Hope it's decent~

Lovely write! I enjoyed how you left all your worldly concerns and insecurities upon the chair and the floor as you walked to your destination of love. Very clever take on intimacy. A wonderful write here.
Blessed Be,
