The sea was calm, not wave nor ripple
The sun was fair and bright
none could fortell, what beast so fell
would come to shatter the night
The half-drow stood calm along the shore
his lines half slack and waiting
his friends at play, with water spray
no hurry his lines for baiting
First came the rumble then came the roar
the water exploding in froth
Tenacles did reach, far to the beach
The Krakken drawn in like a moth
One friend drew spear, one friend threw storm
The half-drow his bow did draw
With slash and cut, two friends worked to gut
While the dark elf took aim at the maw
The battle rage vicious, water sprayed all about
Three arrows gone deep and hit home
Still the Krakken, no fight did slacken
Its tenacles swung to crush bone
A final effort the three friends did muster
A plan to strike the killing blow
The dark elf taken, to the mouth of the Krakken
His blade held high 'stead of low
With aim came the lightening to drive into the blade
The half-drow driving blade in
The guardian with might sent forth all the light
The blade then exploding within
When all the dust settled and froth was no more
Three friends stood to see what remains
The bulk of the beast, now roasted for feast
All cheered the heroes of Krakken's bane
Author notes
This came from an RP story arch. A Minotaur, a Guardian Elemental and a half Drow battled a Krakken.
Can you say Calamari?

Well done
I wondered about the titles you had been using then read your authors notes. They explained a lot. This was an exciting read and made me think a lot of old fables and stories. Great Job and thank you for entering my contest.
