I saw the door,
To Heaven this very day.
The "GLORY of GOD",
It showed along the way!
A thing of beauty,
As I walked amongst the sky.
It's just a shame,
To get there you must die.
Oh thing of beauty,
From "GOD" you must be sent!
For all before me,
Their souls, they must have went.
I shed a tear,
For beauty such as this!
As for this walk,
MY SOUL COULD NEVER MISS!
As I lay down,
To dream about this day.
I thought for certain,
My soul would have to pay.
I don't deserve,
To walk up to "GOD'S" throne.
This path for me,
For many years' been gone.
Now I must rest,
For tomorrow is my day.
When I step forward,
To receive "MY GODLY PAY"!

Nice write, I think what stands out most for me in this poem of praise is how you quietly dropped in the line:
"This path for me,
For many years' been gone."
It punctuates the tear you mentioned earlier. -

The way they must have went, refers to the people or souls that entered heaven previously. I don't know, I thought it fit. How are you on this beautiful morning?
