Well this is probably one of your finer efforts and a good beginning. what you have is the outline for a much more developed story. it is worth the time to re-visit this and (take your time with it) re-write it, expanding, expounding - - mining the depths of your feelings and thoughts - - explore the labyrinth with meditative calm, each step, becoming aware of your place within your story, more aware of your role here in this poem. It is, at the very least wonderful fodder for a short story if not an inspirational novel. These are PERFECT first lines of a novel. Do not hurry the process and above all, enjoy yourself. To quote a marvelous poet “Allow yourself to wander in the poetry garden. Put air in your step, inhale the fragrance of sweetly scented sentences, see the variety of words in bloom, touch the petals of verse~ When the word-whispered wind caresses your soul, sow your verbal seeds and embrace the growth of a new poet.

    Blessings and best wishes,

The pace follows the steps. Steps external and internal. I realized once while learning to walk again, that each completed step is a wonder, but it always led to another damn step.

    Simply beautiful my friend!
It's always great to sit back
and reminisce the days of your
    life. We must always remember
    to indeed count our blessings
and be grateful for every day
    that we have.

Well done with this one and thanks
a lot for sharing this one here!
    Keep up the wonderful work.

This one reminded me of your page motto. It's a fine thing indeed when one can look to the past and feel no regrets, only appreciation of the lessons learned. Wonderfully done. Beautiful inspiration.

    Bravo Julie

You've been on a long and winding road and have taken a GREAT many steps along the way. Remember them all...to forget them would be to do a disservice to yourself for all the hard work you've done.

I am now, and have always been proud of you
