Nectar of Love

 Nectar of Love

An indescribable pleasure
The constant love I have for you
Mystical bond, beyond measure
A feeling of life felt by two

The constant love I have for you
The way you make me feel so fresh
Suckle my breast the way you do
As I caress your silky flesh

Mystical bond, beyond measure
Pressing you close upon my breast
I give to you; my sweet nectar
Together, we have both been blessed

A feeling of life felt by two
For you are my loving treasure
For nine long months I carried you
An indescribable pleasure

Author notes

Retourne
Like so many other French forms, the retourne is all about repetition. It contains four quatrains (four-line stanzas), and each line has eight syllables. The trick is that the first stanza's second line must also be the second stanza's first line, the first stanza's third line is the third stanza's first, and the first stanza's fourth line is the fourth stanza's first. Retournes do not have to rhyme.

    Superdelicious!!!

Having searched for poetry which really gets to grips with the heart, here is a fathomable reality, supercharged with ambition as this piece sets. A standard that goes beyond the superficial and leads us on to beautful platform to treasure. Now, I have a yardstick to build on!!

    A FINE PIECE, INDEED!

A beautiful piece written for a child as only a loving mother could write it from the very depths of her heart and soul! I enjoyed the sentiments and the emotions in this wonderful piece!
    Peace & Love!

a very devotional poem of love, surrender and gratitude ... gracefully, you guide us to meet the one who is your Beloved - not a distant-seeming God - but a living incarnation of God's Love throuth a little innocent baby ...
the sensuality suggested through your imagery reflects an aspect that further appeals to the sensation of mystical union that might be comparable to the union of two lovers ... (that's probably the closest most humans get in a life) ...

a very original approach of the subject, thank you so much for your precious participation ...

This is one of the top two poems I have read in a month. I am in absolute awe of the scope of feeling you put into this, and the delivery was incredible. I could go on and on about this. I wish I could give it more than 3 bunnies.

This is a beautiful poem, definately one of the best ones I've read for a while now. The bond between a mother and a child is special, that's proven by the past of times and I love the way you put that reality into these beautiful words. Thanks for sharing it, I like this one a lot!

Definitely felt by this mother, the indescribable at most times, bond that a mom shares with her child, you HAVE captured it beautifully..."Mystical bond, beyond measure" That line to me says it all..well done, healer of many babies, you have exceeded the feeling...with your words...

Sweet, sweet, sweet! So full of love and warmth. I particularly liked "you make me feel so fresh" - so much in that simple line. Wonderful words, dear friend!
