swallow summer whole

pallid lass in pretty purple dress,

is cardboard cutout

paper doll to hide

anew,

between such sheets

of solemn columns,

pressed as leaf

to save antiquity in blue

where once did stand

a full fledged wing in prince,

with eyes

to share in heavens golden hue

as love to shine in miracle

blessed twice

when clouds

did last

mere moments,

my gift to leave

in simple thought to give,

to all who quest

to read between the lines

is find that hidden child

whose voice has lost,

to bigger breeze

blown windy winters cost

and follow trails

that ants leave to sweet ground,

where dirt to gather fabric

stains are worn

as badge of honor

linking soul to sand,

intrepid in this march

toward the warmth

where laughter swaying slow

on branch to ride,

lays path to pave

in tender touch and rhyme

and glory gleaned in joy

to play pretend,

where heart does hear

a bigger beat to bend

so swallow summer whole

and jump headlong,

into sticky serpentine surprise

where truth is felt forever

fever born,

on shoulders raised in heights

of weights up rise

to gather fruit in fairy lands enchant,

where smile does play

so soft upon your lips

and each flash of time

sparks new adventure,

breathed in wondered sips

    Wolf ~

I am very impressed with the emotional fever you

placed throughout this write in response to your New Poets poem ~

The first few stanzas were a bit clouded for me, as you found a way

to rev your engines for a while before spinning your wheels ~

I must be honest.....I felt a little strained at first.....during the first 4 reads....

    .....however......when I got to this part..>>>

    so swallow summer whole

    and jump headlong,

    into sticky serpentine surprise

    where truth is felt forever

    fever born,

    on shoulders raised in heights

    of weights up rise

to gather fruit in fairy lands enchant,

    where smile does play

    so soft upon your lips

    and each flash of time

    sparks new adventure,

    breathed in wondered sips

    ..>>>>

I was so wrapped up in what you were saying,

that I almost didn't want this piece of

    *story-telling-Art* to end ~

    A masterful write Wolf.....Very, Impressed ~

I am also proud of you for NOT allowing

     *wklokow*'s accent in grammatical

tone to throw your thoughts off...or... to push you

away from the message penned within ~

I think this write is profound.....I'm so happy Melanie chose

    this topic for this Round....otherwise,

you, nor I, would have had the chance to meet

    such a new Great Writer/Poet ~

The ONLY thing I would critique on a dramatic scale with this

write, would be the length.....but nonetheless, you pulled it off quite well ~

    Nicely done Wolf ~

    98.5
