Fifty Three Degrees with a slight breeze.
The sky is slightly cloudy, but the stars still shone thru.
And the night couldn’t have been better than a day dream.
It was the kind of night where one goes on a walk
And they dream of the person to share the setting with.
It was the night that this dream came true.
She wore a ribbon in her hair and a cute old fashioned skirt with a sweater.
It couldn’t have been more perfect.
With a slight chill in the air they swung on the swings.
They talked of being children with big dreams and silly little things.
The wooden castle playground was calling their name.
They climbed right up and sat down in a corner.
Sitting closer and closer.
They looked up at the sky… and gazed up at the stars.
She felt like a princess.
“Oh, look.... that’s the big dipper.”
“Then that must be the North Star”
They picked five different North Stars.
None which were real, they later found out.
He put his arm around her as she let out a shiver.
She had never felt so warm.
A kiss would be perfect at this moment she thought.
But the boy would deny of her of any such thing.
She felt safe, pretty, and happy for the first time in a while.
A much as she wanted to avoid and deny it…
She liked this boy. All the signs pointed to mutual too.
She never wanted this night to end, for it was perfect to her.
Weeks went by, and these two people got closer.
She liked him more… and after a drunken night…
She confessed her feelings, thinking it was alright.
He turned her down, saying all he felt was just casual.
He didn’t want to lead her on, but what about that night in the park?
After that she spent some time crying. This one made no sense to her.
They’d hung out for six months. With a hook-up or two.
She went on to go to extremes that she never thought she’d do
From two, to three, back down to two.
She tried to avoid it, but she still liked him a ton she had to admit
Too bad he turned out to be a worthless piece of shit.
