Behold the aging Queen of Spain
As she falls to her knees in pain
Behold the child caught lying
As she falls to her knees crying
Behold the bride to be
At the alter on bended knee
Behold the lady of leisure
As she falls to her knees in pleasure
Behold the old woman of no name
Doing just the same
As Mary did all through time
Spiritually sublime
No matter the rank
To their knees, they all sank
Before the Lord, the Savior, the Lamb
The Great I Am
As she falls to her knees in pain
Behold the child caught lying
As she falls to her knees crying
Behold the bride to be
At the alter on bended knee
Behold the lady of leisure
As she falls to her knees in pleasure
Behold the old woman of no name
Doing just the same
As Mary did all through time
Spiritually sublime
No matter the rank
To their knees, they all sank
Before the Lord, the Savior, the Lamb
The Great I Am
Author notes
Well, if you've read any of my other work, I don't normally write religious poetry. It was really late, for some reason the picture of an aging old queen before a statue of the Virgin Mary popped into my head and this is what spat out of my pen from that. Just remember that this is not all that great, I know, but for some reason I get something out of it, so here it is.
Please tell me what you think

I must agree, the form wasn't that great; but the idea was fabulous, of people from all different walks of life kneeling before the Lord. With some work it could be amazing. The line Spiritually sublime felt like you just stuck it in to rhyme, but that was the only one. Not bad at all for a late night spew. ^_^
