The Bone Dance

My body's many parts
And this is how it starts
Phalanges, I have ten
And metatarsals then
I have some tarsals too
I put 'em in my shoe

The fibula is next
According to my text
Then there's the tibia
That aint no fib-ia
Then I'm up to my knee
Yeah, yeah, yeah
That's the patella to me

We're doing the Bone Dance
We study the answers
Again and again 'till we get it right
We're doing the Bone Dance
We dance and we learn it
And we won't mess up this test
We'll get it perfect

The femur's above it
'Cuz that's the place it fits
Then there's the ischium
Pubis and ilium
Twenty-four vertebrae
You use them every day

The ribs are in your chest
And you should know the rest
Of the twelve pairs in you
They protect the lungs, too
The sternum's in front of it
Yeah, yeah, yeah
So that the lungs and ribs fit

When I milk the cows
On Uncle Earl's farm
I use all the bones
That are in my arm
My clavicle's right there
And right beside my hair
My scapula you see
That holds the arm of me

Then there's my humerus
Ulna and radius
Carpals are in my hand
And phalanges again
Next to metacarpals
And now up to my skull
Occipital, sphenoid
And also my ethnoid

Then I'll take it home
With the parietal bones
It might be crazy
But I learn that way
Temporals, frontal too
And now I'm finally through
That makes two hundred and six
I found a way that clicks
