Those moments that mean everything,
a year ago my mother had surgery.
My father acompanyed her,
even though he detests hospitals.
She was taken in ,
He waited for hours.
Alone with his thoughts,
his fears.
(even though he shows no fears)
A nurse came in the room ,
handed him her wedding band .
It was cut in half ,
His worst fears assault his mind,
why! why !
her wedding band?
She must not had made it ,
She must be gone.
He couldn't stay there ,
he went down in confusion
to the gift shop .
There was a statue of silhouettes
A man and woman embraced in a circle
that went from one around the other.
He bought it tears in his eyes
preceded to the room
still thinking the worst.
She came out and she was fine.
She later was brought home..
She showed me the statue
And told me with a girlish radiance in her eyes
That my dad really did love her !
After all these years ..
Hes a quiet unaffectionate man
who when thought ,
his wife was gone.
He said unspoken words , a circle cant be broken.
The statue rest on their bedroom dresser still today
to always remember.....
That a man who never said he loved her
showed his love in the most sweetest of gifts.
The circle that couldnt be broken.
