Can It Be Described?

It's kind of like how my arms used to be able to find your waist,
Or how my lips pressed tenderly against your cheek.
It's like how my hand always knew the perfect strand of hair to run through,
And how every compassionate kiss we shared was always old; yet new.

It was also how we screamed at eachother and yelled curses,
And how we would mentally torture one another during spits of anger.
It's how no mater how furious You and I were at eachother,
And how you would always fling back into my arms as if there were no other.

It's like how my heart rests with you now,
It's like the rose I through onto the coffin.
Intertwined our souls will stay,
I knew this as you began to sink away.

It's kind of like how my arms used to hold you,
And how they wish for you now,
And how my lips beg for your tender skin,
But also, like how I know that in Heaven I will see you again.

Author notes

Fictional. I saw this contest and started thinking about love, and how so many people try to describe it unsuccessfully [aka everyone]. So I wrote about that.

The romantic aspect of this is true; this really is how I love, but the death aspect is not. I'm lucky enough to not have anyone close to me pass on.

A truly beautiful and delicate write of love
You're so right; there AREN'T enough words; not enough "correct" words to describe love
Thank you for sharing and for being a part of the contest
