Possessed

Your fingers move soft as thistle down,
Traveling again the peaks and valleys of my face,
Lingering languorously over my lips,
Feeling the heated breath of passion rising.

There is no touch to me like the touch of your hand.
I am roused from my slumber and brought fully awake
To an urgency long known, yet too infrequent.
My breathing slows and gives over to feeling.

I am safe under your caress.
Known to you and no other
Are my secrets.
In this room, secrets they remain.

The days have passed slowly; quickly the years have flown.
My troth has never wavered, my ardor’s flame never flickered.
I have always belonged to you,
To you I belong still.

I feel like i could cry.. this poem is so beautiful and so endearing. in everyone's hopes and dreams they dream of a love as this. But alas there are too few around that still believe in this type of love and intimacy. Thank you for showing me that even in words the way love should be is not dead!

This is the kind of love poetry that has a very old-world kind of feel to it. Something I've always secretly wanted to write myself, but find I'm far too bitter to let it happen. lol. But alas, this is the poetry that makes me WANT to believe in love, and honesty and all that good stuff that goes along with it. Beautiful imagery, and a soft tone that left me with an easy sigh.

Beautifully and softly flowing poem of love and belonging, if only more in this world could feel as you do. Best of luck in the contest...Scott
