In freedom's beauty
at one with nature,
with rippling muscles
flying like the wind.
Creature of wonder
in strength and power,
a hunter in balance
of territory staked.
Racing through his domain
in survival of the fittest,
cruel may it seem
yet the way meant to be.
Fleeing from the hunter
in flight his life to protect,
as shots ring out loud
for a pelt to be sold.
He watches in peril
and runs like a zephyr,
graceful movement through country
this realm of the cheetah.
Admire the power
in fierceness to endure,
everlasting through time
part of creation spectacular.

This kind of flowed by like the wind. It was almost hard to stop reading when the verses ran out! Great poem. It painted a unique image. I love the word "zephyr." Good luck in the contest!
