A City On My Mind

Walking down streets filled with cafe aromas

and the occasional jingle of a misfortunate cup.

Guitars being played for an extra buck as

lovers wonder aimlessly through their alley of

distinction.

Horns blaring and people making colorful gestures while

I laugh my inaudible laugh at how much I missed Atlanta.

Ever been to Atlanta?

    WONDERFUL!!!!

Isn't it strange just what things one misses as they think of a place they lived in and like.

    Very nice job ...

except that I'd change this line:

and the occasional jingle of a misfortunate cup. (an unfortunate's cup)

Otherwise, this is a great job.

did you mean "wonder" or "wander". because knowing for certain which you meant decides how i'd interpret the line. as it is, i see lovers "pondering" in an "aimless" sort of way their particular union, what distinguishes them from any other couple.

i enjoyed reading this, especially lines 1, 2, and 3/4. i love watching your poetry mature as time goes on. it's a real delight.

      yah...

I actually thought about making it "wander" but decided to make it something else entirely...you know?...lol

why would it not be a delight...wasn't it a person I seem to know by the name of Erin A. Thomas that helped shape a lot of what my poetry is today? Or was I imagining things?
