I listen to the whispering wind,
It shines bright in my eyes as I breathe,
I inhale and exhale my pupils.
The neckbeards all around me parrot
Philosophers, musicians and men
Free of political agendas,
But my elevator ride will not
Slow down long enough to let me hear
Anything but the whispering wind.

If anyone knows the song I'm referring to in the third line, I want to be your friend.

I enjoyed this piece to its fullest potential and I love the raw emotions that forces itself deeper and deeper. Your ending was what struck me the most, and I loved it!

interesting!
I read this out-loud, several times. I like the way it starts so narrow and internal, becomes broad and busy, then relieves the busy-ness by re-focusing on the whispering wind- peaceful.
good luck in this contest!
